Ufenau Files – the Escape Game by Boat in Rapperswil
Experience our secret agent thriller Operation Mindfall in its most adventurous special edition: in “Ufenau Files”, you steer your own boat across Lake Zurich – no boat licence required – and solve puzzles on land, on the water and on Ufenau Island. The picturesque setting of Rapperswil is the perfect backdrop: as an original team event for companies or an unforgettable day out with friends or family.
How Ufenau Files works
After a welcome and briefing, you receive your iPad for navigation, and “Ufenau Files” begins. To get familiar with the game, you complete the first two missions on land. Then you pick up your boat at Hensa boat rental and set sail: plenty of challenges await on the way to Ufenau Island. After docking, you complete two more missions on the island. Cruise across Lake Zurich like James Bond and prove yourselves as honourable top agents – thrills and fun guaranteed!
Meeting point in Rapperswil
The meeting point depends on the size of your group:
- One boat: The introduction takes place directly at the Hensa boat rental in Rapperswil.
- Two or more teams: We meet at the tourist office on Fischmarktplatz in Rapperswil, where our game master welcomes and briefs you.
Both meeting points are just a few minutes’ walk from Rapperswil station.
Two boats to choose from: Spirit or Lounge Boat
Two licence-free boats are available for your mission, and every player can take the helm:
- Spirit – up to 5 people: the sporty boat for smaller teams.
- Lounge Boat – up to 8 people: more space and comfort for larger teams.
If you’re exactly 5 people, you can choose whether to go sporty in the Spirit or relaxed in the Lounge Boat.

From two teams upwards, an experienced game master accompanies you, and several routes ensure the teams don’t get in each other’s way. Teamwork, communication and a dash of adventure: a company event on Lake Zurich that people will talk about for a long time. For your mission, you’ll receive a tablet and an action pack, plus a licence-free 8 hp boat to get around.

Do you need a boat licence?
No. The boats are licence-free and can be steered by every player. You’ll receive a short briefing before you set off.
Which boats are available?
The Spirit for up to 5 people and the Lounge Boat for up to 8 people. If you’re exactly 5 people, you can choose which boat you’d like.
Where is the meeting point?
For bookings with one boat, the introduction takes place directly at the boat rental in Rapperswil. For two or more teams, we meet at the tourist office on Fischmarktplatz. Both meeting points are a few minutes’ walk from Rapperswil station.

When can you play Ufenau Files?
The game is available from the beginning of April to the end of September.
What happens in bad weather?
The game goes ahead in light rain. In the event of a storm warning or severe weather, the boat trip isn’t possible for safety reasons. In that case, we offer a walking version through beautiful Rapperswil and refund the boat rental.
