1. What this is about

This privacy policy explains which personal data we process when you visit our website zurich.outdoor-escape-games.ch, book a game, send us an enquiry or take part in one of our games. We comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3. What data we process

  • Contact and booking data: name, email address, phone number, company, billing address, booked game, date, number of participants and your message.
  • Payment data: information about the payment method and payment status. Credit card and TWINT data are processed directly by the payment service providers; we do not receive complete card details.
  • Game data: team name, game progress, score and playing time on the iPads we provide.
  • Photos: team photos taken during the game, which we send to you by email after the event.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser, operating system, pages visited, date and time of access, and referrer URL.

4. Purpose of processing

We process your data in order to:

  • answer enquiries and prepare quotes,
  • process bookings, run games and issue invoices,
  • send you the team photo and information about your event,
  • operate the website securely and reliably,
  • improve our services and analyse website usage statistically,
  • comply with legal obligations, e.g. retention requirements.

Depending on the case, the legal bases under the GDPR are the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) and legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).

5. Hosting and server log files

Our website is hosted by [hosting provider, country]. When you visit the website, the server automatically stores technical data (server log files) to ensure security and functionality. This data is not combined with other data and is deleted after a short period.

To deliver certain scripts, we use the Cloudflare content delivery network (cdnjs). In doing so, your IP address is transmitted to Cloudflare.

6. Cookies and consent

Our website uses cookies. Necessary cookies ensure basic functions, such as language selection. We only set statistics and marketing cookies with your consent, which you give via our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time in the cookie settings. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser at any time.

7. Online booking via Regiondo

For online bookings and payments, we use the booking system of Regiondo GmbH, Germany. When you book via our website, your booking and payment data are transmitted to Regiondo and processed there to handle your booking. Further information can be found in Regiondo’s privacy policy.

8. Contact form and email

If you contact us via the contact form (WPForms) or by email, we store your details in order to process your enquiry. Google reCAPTCHA may be used to protect against spam; in this case, technical data is transmitted to Google.

9. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics

We use Google Tag Manager, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, to integrate analytics tools. With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to analyse the use of our website statistically. Data such as pages visited, time spent on the site and device information is collected; IP addresses are shortened. Data may be transferred to the USA. Google is certified under the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Further information can be found in Google’s privacy policy.

10. Google Fonts and Google Maps

We use Google Fonts to display fonts. On some pages, we embed Google Maps to show meeting points. When these are loaded, your IP address is transmitted to Google.

11. Google reviews via Trustindex

To display our Google reviews, we use the Trustindex widget (Trustindex.io, Hungary). When the widget loads, technical data such as your IP address is transmitted to Trustindex.

12. YouTube videos

On some pages, we embed videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited). When you play a video, data is transmitted to YouTube. If you are logged in to your Google account, YouTube may associate the visit with your account.

13. Social media and WhatsApp

Our website contains links to our profiles on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest, as well as to WhatsApp. These are simple links; data is only transmitted once you click on a link. The privacy policies of the respective providers apply on their platforms.

14. Disclosure and transfer abroad

We only share your data where necessary for the purposes described, e.g. with IT and booking service providers, payment providers, apéro or catering partners (only at your request), or with authorities if we are legally obliged to do so. Some service providers are based in the EU or the USA. For transfers to countries without an adequate level of data protection, we rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or on the Data Privacy Framework.

15. Retention period

We keep personal data for as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention periods; business-relevant documents are generally kept for 10 years. We delete team photos no later than 1 month after the event.

16. Your rights

You have the right to request information about the data we hold about you and to have it corrected, deleted or its processing restricted. You can object to processing, withdraw your consent at any time and request your data in a common format. Please send your request to contact@outdoorescapegames.ch.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

17. Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Our website is secured with SSL/TLS encryption.
